My lighthouseby hilmarsigComment: Critique Club
You met the challenge perfectly here, absolute symmetry. As many people said, the perspective is great, the viewer is toatlly led into the picture and I think your focusing enhances this. I think that a bit more contrast would have been good, perhaps boosting the blue channel would have set the tower off well. I also think that this would be great in black and white, the lighthouse and perspective has quite an eerie feel to it, with such simple composition that I think this would be great in B/W, the clouds in the sky would be excellent with high contrast. Great shot and Good luck in the next challenge. |

Natures Semmetryby vtruanComment: Critique Club
The subject choice is great, I love the detail in the shot. Lighting is also great, with the light highlighting the needles. Perhaps a different composition would have been good, would it have been possible to find a lone cacti and then centred it in the frame, with the top set off by the sky? it would have also been a good macro subject, getting in close and showing the symmetry in the detail of the cacti. This is a great shot, bur perhaps suffered in the voting through the lack of obvious symmetry. Good Luck in the next challenge. |

Pipesby laurelComment: Critique Club
You have met the challenge with the subject and there is definite symmetry in the shot. Firstly, I think that the subject itself isn' t that interesting or beautiful and I would have possibly looked for something with more impact. Focus looks a little soft and therefore lacks definition. Also the lighting is a bit flat, perhaps cropping this to concentrate on the pipes and cutting off the extra space on either side, changing to black and white and then adding more contrast would have given this shot more impact. Good Luck in the next challenge |

The Stairwayby acumuluscloudComment: Critique Club
You have met the challenge with the symmetry and composition. I think that more contrast would help bring out the "inner city" feel to the image, lots of contrast and even grain would have added more impact. Perhaps having someone leaning against the railings at the top would have added interest, could be good as only a silhouette against the bright sky, but would have added the extra element that perhaps this shot needed. Good Luck in the next challenge. |

Enjoying a Sunsetby SonifoComment: I love the lines leading you into the sunset, great use of silhouette. Maybe nice to see his profile, but I also like that he is looking into the distance. Lovely picture! |
