Great subject, great tonality. Where is the grain? It's so mild I can't tell whether that is her natural skin texture or not. I'm giving it a 5, but know that I really like the pic.

Every time I see a horse shot I have to think it's lynnesite. Is it you? This picture is excellent in composition, lighting, and subject. It is utterly lacking in the grain I'm looking for (when I pull the laptop to 10" from my eyes to see if there is noise or not, that's not a good sign). I'll give you a 5 just cuz it's a really nice pic.

I'm happier with people who had the guts to do a good amount of grain. I don't like the gradient however. What is it doing for the picture? There were a number of ways to add the grain as well, and I'm not a big fan of this type. The subject was a good one for a grainy image. 5

I am a fan of selective desat, but I know there are others on this site who are not. However, I'm not sure the subject causes a lot of feeling in me. The grain is there, but minimal. I think it is attempting to add a texture to feel like a misty rain. It succeeds, but only just. 5

It's amazing what post-production can do to a picture. What once was water now looks like lava. I sorta wish it had even more grain as it is really only noticeable in the bottom left. 8

Grain was tougher to add to the color pics. I think this one did the best. The selection of shallow DOF, muted colors, and subject are good choices for a grainy image. 9

Ah, I hate entries like this. It is a wonderful photo! Excellent! But where is the grain? I can hardly see it. Therefore, what is it adding? There's no way I can give you below a 5, but my 8-10 scores are for entries which make use of scads of grain. Bottom line though, this is an excellent photo. 6
