Let me add another reason - the background is not that good for the shot, the three wires hurt it. That said I still have you a six.

But I suspect that some didn't care for this interpretation of perspective. My image played a similar game of near vs far, I did not do as well as you did, but the one comment that said the most early on was....

"nice, but probably going to score below its value in 'perspective'"

I think it would look better with some of the top cropped off - that hole in the folage just does not look right and pulls my attention away from the horse.

The perspective it there - but I think it gets lost in the chaos of so many flags and the lack of a clear focus in the distance so in the end I get more of a feeling of chaos than of perspective. It might have worked better if the flags seemed ot have some organization in how they were placed.

I would have liked to a stronger use of perspective here. Perhaps it needs more of the bank of the river - or something to give me a line into the distance. The trees by themselves just are not strong enough for me.

The angle of the image works for me. With the title you used one car caught in a motion blur might have added to the impact. But you would not want it so dominate that you lose the perspective you have created.

On the Line

Good idea. I think you got a little too close to the rail and lost more of the tracks that the image follows. The line of the rail dominates wihout leading me someplace other than the horizon.

Looking for the light

To me I would like to see more DOF and a better sky. Too much of the image seems out of focus to be pleasing to me. I wonder if it might have worked better at twilight when the detail was still visible but the light was on in the lighthouse.
