Still life made up from foodby jmespigaComment: Too much going on IMO. The fruit, the ham, the wood, the knife, sausage, the chairs against the harsh white wall. I think if you would have taken the elements currently in the right half of the image and made a more atmospheric still life out of that, it could have worked. |

Gram's Chicken Pot Pieby mluComment: The pie looks delicious and could have been photographed in a more attractive way. The red kettle draws all the attention. The electric appliance on the wall could have been left out of the frame. Those two things would already have made a difference. |

Fruit Tarts by GolferDDSComment: There is so much going on that I hardly noticed the tarts. Overall very flat light, no shadows, and the falling fruit also feels edited in, as result of the sharpness versus the background and as result of total lack of shadows. It does not appeal to me. |

I would probably have put the focus a bit more to the back (on the nuts and ham) because the zig-zag lines are leading my eye towards that point. In my view the focus is too far to the front, on the white plates and empty space. |
