You never know..by vignirComment: The shot isn't bad. The biggest problem here is that your photoshopping doesn't flow with your photo. Your shot has almost entirely midrange tones, but the piece you added is straight black and straight white, which makes it stand out from the shot as unnatural. The font you used seems like a poor fit as well. The result seems to be a solemn shot with a somewhat cheesy tag added to it, leaving it quite unbalanced. If your intention was to create a contrast by adding a lighthearted tag to a heavy shot, that's a different matter entirely, but I didn't get that impression. |

Take me to your leader...by danwanComment: unintersting subject, poor focus, poor tie to the challlenge. You should have tried something completely different. 1 |

Triptychby zeuszenComment: Very interesting. The different coloring of the bottom middle section seems to throw it off. If that part had the brown bars like the upper portion I think the shot would be a lot stronger, by retaining it's strong lines. |

Hiking New Mountainsby RiderGalComment: Your photo quality here has suffered a lot. Everything has an outline of distortion on it that greatly distracts from the image. It looks like this shot is only 18k in size, so I'd definately recommend using a lot more of the available 150k by saving at a higher quality level. The overall image is pretty good. I like the silhoutte(sp?) idea, but I think the resulting shot is somewhat uninteresting. Perhaps if the "mountains" were on more of a grand scale it would add to the impact, as presently it looks like that person has a pretty simple and uneventful hike in front of him. |

Future Trackby goguenComment: At first I looked at this and thought "yep, forcing a pic into a challenge topic." and sighed to myself. Then about 5 seconds later I thought "nope, I was completely wrong." This shot does a great job of representing the future because it draws your eyes off into the distance right up to the point that you can no longer make up the tracks. It leaves you wondering what is up ahead. It carries with it not only a sense of distance or scenery, but I think it does a pretty good job of expressing time as well.
The colorful pebbles in the foreground add to the appeal of the shot. Given that the shot is so focused on symetry for effect, the difference in the space that the trees and greenery fill in on each side is something to consider. I wouldn't say for sure that it poses a problem, but it does seem to draw attention to itself and I don't think that helps.
Nice work. |

Fast deliveryby jjbeguinComment: Wow.. browsing your profile and I must say this shot was brutally underscored in my humble opinion (I didn't vote this challenge). Creative and unique shot that I find very enjoyable. |

Cheeky Monkeyby Alpine99Comment: I saw this in the forum and I had to stop by and comment because it's such a wonderful shot. To be honest, I cringed when everyone started up loading pictures of their kids in that thread.. sentimenal kid pics are very far from being a personal favorite. However, this shot grabbed my attention and I was very, very impressed. Everything here is captured so well. A wonderful child no doubt, but a wonderful photo to match. = ) |

Just us.by BobsterLobsterComment: I'd just like to second my original request that you might upload the pre-filter version of this shot. I have such mixed feelings about this shot and I'd really be interested in seeing whether I like it better without the filter or whether I'm wrong on that. |

Nude Dailyby wingyComment: Well this scored a bit better than I expected, so I'm rather pleased. Oh, and for anyone who wondered or asked, I'm not wearing trunks or anything in this shot. I've got the outtakes to prove it, but I think you can all trust me. = ) |
