Black Charcoalby ScantyNebulaComment: the shallow depth of field works nicely, good lighting, great clarity/detail. Solid shot all around. |

In The Theaterby alternaruleComment: ok, I don't know how this relates to "black", or what purpose the blurred effect (whether produced in setup or postprocessing) serves. |

Can You Find Me?by kim100878Comment: despite this being a black challenge, this seems like it had insufficient lighting and is too far underexposed. Better lighting, for example lighting from the side that would catch only parts of the object and leave the rest shadowed, might help the shot. |

My Black Beautiesby MikeOComment: I don't know what compelled you to use a bright yellow border (particularly in a "black" challenge), but it certainly doesn't seem to enhance my experience of the shot. |

Classic Blackby dan_pendletonComment: nice, but with so little angle on the shot, I think it might have been better to go straight on and light the entire thing evenly. |

Focus On Happiness by labudsComment: Having not voted in this challegne, when I saw this on the front page and recognized the droplet technique I admit that I cringed and said to myself "how the hell did another unoriginal copycat technique win another ribbon?" Then I looked at it up close, and saw the frowning/smiling face effect from the inversion, and I smiled really big. You earned this one by adding your creativity to a stale technique and pushing it to the next level. I respect that. Congratulations. |

salt and pepperby slonkoComment: There's no reason to submit a photo significantly smaller than the allowed size. IT really kills the detail. |
