d o t s -&- l i n e sby annahComment: I'm pretty sure I know who this is ;)
You've outdone yourself on this portrait. The composition is excellent. The liquid eyes are well captured and the face 'painting' makes the picture so unique. I really hope you get the blue!!!
The only tiny thing I might change is the small amount of overprocessing on the right side of the image by the nose and the cheek.. but it's not that noticeable.
Well done!! |

stepping awayby armelleComment: Thank you everyone for the helpful comments. I have more work ahead!
Zed Pobre: I do like your color rendition! I'll have to try your steps later tonight (although I don't know if Elements has 'selective color' and smart sharpen?). BTW, the figure was some stranger in the distance and I think he was wearing a backpack :)
And concerning your stab at it, I don't mind at all, it actually makes me want to play with the color version again (along with the other comments)... Thanks!

Forgotten Water (JPG-based retouch)by Zed PobreComment: I think your PS version really increased the perception of depth of this photo... And you started out with an amazing depth of field shot with a blury, sharp, blury gradient that really works well!
IMHO, increasing the yellow color even more to a brighter one would help further! I love the sun streaks on the grass... In the end, the exposure seems perfect to me!
Well done.

re-edited-horse.jpgby sheapodComment: Following good previous comments is hard :) I do agree that this photo is the best of all three. I like the new crop and the image is not too sharp now. I'm myself learning to play with dodge and durn (I know it works better in B&W) but I wonder if the slightest of dodging might help as well? Maybe a 2-3% on some parts of his mane and his skin to bring out highlights? Maybe you could also burn a bit of the stall to make it fade in the background? Outside of those minor details, well done!!! |

Eruptionby dsidwellComment: Added this to my favorites! Love the clouds and the editing of them! Wonder how you did it? smudging or did you add streaks in yourself as well? Great composition as well!
You're an amazing photographer!!! |

The Stare Downby JutildaComment: Great shot!! I love his stare and the capture is excellent in terms of lighting and sharpness! His whiskers and nose really do seem to pop out of the photo :) I do think however that the background takes away from the beauty of the animal itself... I wonder how it looks even more cropped so you only see the center of his face and none of the greenery (you'd loose his ears though)... a tad more of USM also, especially around the eyes?
Very well done! |

Out of the Shadowsby JutildaComment: Well done! Great composition.
The texture on the leaf really stands out as do the shadows and the other leaf hidding in the corner adds to the photo as well! I wonder how it might look at a slightly different angle to accentuate the center 'curve/bump' on the leaf itself? Nice B&W!! |

Disneyland Reflectionby JutildaComment: Great shot. The reflections really add 'Disney' magic! I wonder if PS burning the sky a bit darker would make a difference? .. to make it as dark as the reflected sky in the water? Well done! |

Little Bear Riverby dsidwellComment: This is such an amazing photograph. The mountains in the backgrounds are ghostly and sureal and yet so solidly there! I love the contrast, the composition, and the exposure! The river is also so well captured, silky smooth. True talent!! Message edited by author 2005-08-17 22:35:14. |
