Nice abstract - simple, but highly impressive! According to my experience not the best choice for the DPC, but personally I like it. Perhaps I would have rotated it a little bit. Beautiful corona around the lampshade!

The original might be a nice shot, but I can't see this in your submision. IMHO this photo is much too small and unfortunately the JPEG compression artefacts are completely destroying the impression. You can submit a file size up to 150KB (your shot has only 15KB)! Doing so will eliminate or decrease the compression artefacts...

Don't be angry about your score, personally I voted 9. This is a very unique submission for the cliche challenge. I like your idea to submit a shot of a withered flower. This photo is (compared to others, which scored better) technically well done. Your composition is good, the DOF is well chosen and I like the texture as well as the unobtrusive lighting. Only the background could be a little less distracting. Great shot!
