This is a great image - but being that it doesn't hit the full range of tones, it would be a stretch to be considered high-contrast IMHO. Congrats on the blue! =)

I'm not sure if it is the front-page status of this image that did it, but it certainly has grown on me and is now in my faves. Such a vexing perspective and great DOF.

Excellent point. DPC is a bad place to show people personal images that you love. Because an unexpectedly low score can needlessly alter the positive feelings of that image - albeit they really shouldn't ;)

To the viewer, none of those things are visible. What remains is a very average image of someone holding a camera.
