Creating magic between two slices of breadby damjanevComment: I like this image because of the lighting and shadows, the intense concentration evident in his face, the obvious "candid" nature of the photograph, and the framing with the dark curtain on the left balanced by the dark item on the wall behind him (chalkboard?). |

A Light On Christmas Eveby JakeKurdsjukComment: A top five image IMHO. What takes this above most of the other images in the challenge, for me, is the use of light in the way it is contained by his hands, face, and jacket. It gives warmth to the point of interest and lets the rest of the photo fall into darkness. Well done. |

A Girl and Her Dog by sjhulsComment: A top five image IMHO. Great interaction suggested by the girl's eyes, smile, and slight angle to her dog as she runs. Good, clean diagonal line in the background to let my eye wander past them to the setting. Having a cute hat and a cute dog, doesn't hurt any either. |
