Thanks all for the thoughtful comments. Haven't submitted an entry in awhile but plan to more often now that I am finally retired and can pursue things I like to do. This picture was taken at rookery in Orlando. It was great watching the birds. They are very use to people and are not that shy which makes them easy targets for the camera.

Excellent photo with a strong visual impact. Negative black space works well. Looks like you may have added some noise on the lower pedals, stem, and background perhaps to accentuate the sharpness of the rest of the tulip. Some small specs on the top pedal could have been removed in advanced editing but doesn't detract much overall. Not sure the border helps either. It is hard to see on my monitor and I don't think it adds a whole lot. Great shot with excellent lighting too. Good luck.
