Waiting a Berthby SteveinnzComment: Out of focus and somewhat boring. Nothing breaks up the background, and there is nothing special about the subject. |

Togetherby SnapperLComment: Ocean color seems unrealistic, and the line of rocks distracts from the couple, as it passes right through them. If they had been dressed more brightly (to draw the eye to them) and the rocks been at their feet, and the ocean more believable, it would have been much better. |

im sorry old friendby WisheComment: Both beautiful and tragic, once the title clue is used to focus on the destroyed pistils. The bright whites at the top glare a little, and the focus is a bit soft, even at the subject, which mars an otherwise excellent image. |

What is in the darkby jigglebugComment: Fuzzy, harsh, blown highlights. This may be deliberate, but the question is almost more, what is in the light? The shadow isn't ghostlike enough to be haunting, and that is the only thing that would have redeemed the other factors. |

Mouse Houseby lemondsterComment: That's pretty far off the ground for a mouse, but the concept is cute and entertaining. The overall image is too dark, though (though that's better than being too bright). |

Lonely Heartby LouiseBComment: Pretty background, without being distracting, and the subject immediately draws the eye. The image as a whole is evocative as well. My only nit (that keeps this from being a 10), is that the center of the heart (candy?) is harshly reflective. This does draw the eye, but crosses over into painful glare, obscuring what it actually is. |

To the water!by gwendyComment: The ducklings are cute and colorful, but the water is surreal and harsh. |

fly awayby suemackComment: Ack! Painful, tedious white background, and blurry subject. |

Riverside Laundryby desertdocComment: Without the title, I would have ignored the actual subject as just a distraction to a very beautiful, non-minimalist tree. Something more needs to draw the eye to the subject. |

Countdownby SycoPhantComment: The bright whites are a bit hard on the eyes, but the use of depth of field is interesting. The subject, taken as the entire number pad, takes up a large part of the image, but conforms to classic minimalism, so no points docked for that. |
