This was a good idea, but ... :) Your horizontal line is crooked and the lighting is flat. Probably would have done better with several light sources and a lighter background. Good luck!

So, you've heard over and over again about the DOF. I have to agree. I love the textures, and the colors, but the POF is confusing. Again, try different angles and apertures and use the one you look and like the best. That doesn't mean everyone else likes it, but you know you've posted a photo that touches you.

The composition of this one is great, I just have to agree with the darkness. I think more of a contrast would have worked well for this one, like against a white or maybe even a gold background. I'd try a few different ones. When I enter a challenge, I drive my family crazy because I use about 3 different backgrounds, 4 different views, and click about 40 different photos. :) My husband just shakes his head at me and walks away. LOL

Hey Kevin ... you are definitely bumping up as the challenges go. I really like the colors and the feel of this photo, but as a few have mentioned below, it is a little cluttered. Just very busy, a lot to look at all at once. I like the gritty feel of what you have, that it's been used, and you didn't go out and buy new stuff just for this photo. I gave you a 6. Don't worry about those low numbers that people voted, because even the ribbon winners get some 1s or 2s. :)

The inverted image isn't quite working ... I think the orginal would have done better, mainly because the pens and easer look weird like this. Good luck!
