I remember reading recently that we should not be criticizing photos because they use an idea that has "previously been done to death". Please remember there are those of us new to the forum and dp, and to whom these concepts are just delightful, and yes, even new.
Also, each photo should be judged on its own merit. Using your statement, should we exclude all the Icelandic Northern lights?
I appreciate you did make some positive comments on this picture, but your "done to death" phrase really bothers me in this forum. |

Taking Instruction- Practice in Pittsfordby smichenerComment: Is this really basic editing? Seems very overprocessed, but that's obviously what you were after. I like the composition and the lines, but not so sure about the size of that yellow anchor in the foreground - makes the people look like miniatures. |

Cruisin' the Reefby yakatmeComment: This would be my favorite, but I'm distracted by the way you can't see his second leg. I just love the composition. |

Dirt? What dirt?by PrashComment: I love the subtle coloring, but find the whole image a little confusing to my eyes - sort of distracting the way the rider blends in with the background. |

Kiteboardingby pinetree3Comment: I would like to have seen this from a little further away, not such a tight crop. Right now I think it's just too much. Zooming in with a powerful lens just because we have the power isn't always the best thing. Other than that, it's a beautifully sharp photo |

Strengthby amcamComment: I love everything about this except the background, which I find distracting. I know you can't clone it out in basic, but with a different setting on the camera, or different lens, it would at least be out of focus. Right now it's distracting me. Sorry to have to mark you down because of that. |

Tail Chasingby toadicoComment: Not sure if this is DNMC, but you get points for sense of humor! |

Bee's paradise?by larushkaComment: Originally posted by pixelpig: The contrast between the filled-with-light petals (they look made of glass) and the earthy reality of the bee & FG petals holds my interest.
