I remember reading recently that we should not be criticizing photos because they use an idea that has "previously been done to death". Please remember there are those of us new to the forum and dp, and to whom these concepts are just delightful, and yes, even new.

Also, each photo should be judged on its own merit. Using your statement, should we exclude all the Icelandic Northern lights?

I appreciate you did make some positive comments on this picture, but your "done to death" phrase really bothers me in this forum.

Is this really basic editing? Seems very overprocessed, but that's obviously what you were after. I like the composition and the lines, but not so sure about the size of that yellow anchor in the foreground - makes the people look like miniatures.

I love the subtle coloring, but find the whole image a little confusing to my eyes - sort of distracting the way the rider blends in with the background.

I would like to have seen this from a little further away, not such a tight crop. Right now I think it's just too much. Zooming in with a powerful lens just because we have the power isn't always the best thing. Other than that, it's a beautifully sharp photo

I love everything about this except the background, which I find distracting. I know you can't clone it out in basic, but with a different setting on the camera, or different lens, it would at least be out of focus. Right now it's distracting me. Sorry to have to mark you down because of that.
