The Fast & the Furiousby kebmod54Comment: I think the formula to a 10 is simple here... include all of the second horse and I think I'm compelled to give you a 10. Great texture in the track, great stop action, I love the framing of the lead horse, but cutting off the second horse hurts. Nice shot. |

Comfortable Silenceby rll07Comment: This is a most intriguing shot. I originally gave this a 5, but I'm moving it up one, maybe 2 after I write this. The look on the dog's face is very personified, like "what were you thinking?" The stark white background is a very fitting one. This could be a frame from an old advertisement for dog food or something. It's really a nice shot and a very good job capturing the stare from this canine ham. Nice work. |

Study in Form and Toneby GeneralEComment: I guess I don't get the form part to this picture. I think it's about an 8 to 10 year old boy judging by the hands. Maybe a little older. The tone is pretty good. But the form part makes me wonder what the photographer was trying to accomplish in this shot. It looks like half a sit up, or someone just clunked him on the head. There's not much flow to the form, the framing is too tight and his elbow has bent right off the screen on the left side. |

The Guitaristby arnitComment: This is a picture that's been on my mind all day. It hit me what it is about it that I would have like to see different. It may be a pre-conception from prior pictures, but hear me out... I think I would like this photo better if the man's left hand were on the fretboard and focused rather than on his instrument. I think that for a couple of reasons. #1 - I think that the focus should be on the musician, not the instrument. Just seems like it should be that way to me unless this was a very noteworthy guitar like BB King's Lucille or EVHs 5150 Guitar. #2 - It would keep the musician sort of focused and not quite so blurry. This looks like it could be Ashton Kutcher from That 70's Show. Good luck with this one. It does have some appeal. I don't want you to think that I hate it. I play the guitar myself :) |

New to the Worldby sylandrixComment: I like the soft look to this photo. Diffusion filter? If so, what one... I must know as I'm in the market for one that does this. My softness in my photos comes from PS (not challenge photos of course). The cat is average cute. It has a peculiar look to it but I can't tell you why exactly. The framing is too tight where my mind says "big" to the cat without knowing its size exactly. generally "big" and "cute" are hard to find in the same sentence. I'd have preferred to see it much smaller in the frame. \"small\" and \"cute\" are a little more apt to be uttered in the same breath. Just feeling long-winded today..... |

Castleby trishComment: The tonal quality of this photo is just a little too brown for my tastes. A worthy subject, but not an exceptional one. I think an alternate perspective might do this castle a bit more justice. Not bad as is, but I think there is a better way to make us perceive this. |

Portrait Of A Turretby LarsPaysenComment: Awesome contrast from the left to the right side. Love the separation and layering of the church, it looks like it was cut out and stuck to an underexposed layer of batting. I would've like to have seen more of this church, but I'm sure that some of the layering would be lost by moving the focal point of the camera back toward the lens. Excellent shot. I originally gave this a 7. Today I see it as an 8. |

For The Lineby jimmythefishComment: This photo intrigues me a little as a good action shot for the most part. I really think the framing is too far right of center. I think it would work for me better if she were running more left to right and not so much forward. The other thing that bothers me about this a little as a matter of personal preference, is the leg on the left. I know she's running and all, but its altogether unnatural looking. I can very well appreciate the extreme clarity of this shot for being a stop action. It really is very stopped. I think put her a little right of center and this shot gets another point from me, and maybe 2. |

Whitneyby draney4Comment: This is a really nice portrait of this person. I like that it's not just a big posed "say cheese" picture but a very nice, natural poignant pic. Its just a little soft and I don't like the way "soft" comes across in this photo. It almost looks like the brim of the hat is the focal point. Very nicely done regardless. |
