There are a couple things about this shot that I really like. The foam is not arranged in any special pattern. B&W works well with this subject, and that this little bit of shaving foam that costs next to nothing makes a really cool subject and I wish I would've thought of it. Good image, good luck - Inspzil

An object this centered should be taken much closer, or cropped in much closer. The photo is pretty good, but the shallow DOF of macro does not lend itself to having foreground images this much closer than the subject. On the brighter side, it is a good capture and the subject is in good focus. Overall the image would be much better if the framing was changed. - Inspzil

My personal first rule on macros is - Don't lose focus in the foreground. I realize the difficulty preserving DOF on a photo like this with this much depth, but it can be done. This could've used a boost on the sat's to bring the color in stronger, but it isn't necessary. The photo is quite good, but its kind of like a good play with terrible first&second acts, it's hard to get by that initial part and have a basically unbiased opinion when viewing the rest of the play.
