Salt Shakerby JackoComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
By Inspzil
Composition - Obvious the line of sugar is our leading line. When I think of leading lines I think more of scenic places that end with "scape", but lines are lines. What I see as the most effective thing in terms of the composition is how you somehow made the sugar really contrast with very effective lighting. The left side is total white out and the right side has parts where its almost completely black. This is really an extraordinary line. But looking at it, it seems so simple but I would never in a million years be doing this, on purpose and make it so effective. I think if you would've lost the little white thingy in the bottom right corner you'd have earned yourself another ribbon. Your creativity is unbounded!
Technical - Perfect exposure. "Crystal" clear, great color (artificial or not)with an awesome gradient type background. Darn near perfect. 'nuff said!
Overall - Tremendous shot. A strong second in my book. (I really think the winning shot is deserving). Love the picture though. Your creativity is really in a class by itself Jacko. And the other part that goes with it is that you know how to put it in print effectively. Great Job! - Bob |

From The Past Into The Presentby LanceComment: This is difficult to determine what the subject is. I'm assuming its a bridge part of some sort, but that determination is strictly based on the challenge title. This serves as more of an abstract. |

New and old Carlton Bridgeby kblmComment: This would be a much better shot if it were clearer. The composition has some nice elements to it with both bridges side by side. The old bridge is far more interesting. A lot of perspectives are possible for this place that could be very effective in terms of conveying a little message. |

Fading to Goldby smellyfish1002Comment: I think this picture would be more effective showing a little more of the sky. I think it would also bring this pic into a little better size perspective. Nice crisp photo with excellent natural lighting. |

Rusting Trestleby rwellsComment: Great perspective on this throwback to the sixties shot. The greyscale gives it that sixties mood I think. Nice job |

Rails_to_Trailsby mjasrComment: Underexposed and lacking contrast. Everything is just a little too grey. The car underneath is not really helping anything. |

Sumas Prairie Trestle Bridgeby Silver FoxComment: This could be just a little sharper. The dreary weather is not helping things at all. I think going greyscale would've been an option worth exploring. |

Trout Brook Bridgeby abh1Comment: The snow on the rocks is great. The bridge is well camoflauged into the background. It is a nice photo but not because of the bridge IMO. |
