Flameby greenem2Comment: This would've been a really cool picture if it wasn't quite so overexposed |

Keyboard Dusterby DigiPiqueComment: Looks like a big wad of spaghetti noodles, or a real sponge. Interesting sort of abstract macro. |

Composition - I have some mixed emotions about this photo. I gotta say on the whole I generally like it but see where some others might've had some doubts. The biggest thing I DON't like is the format and size. I typically like the more traditional aspect ratios as opposed to these panoramic type shots. What i do like is the thoughts that this image gives me. The first thing I thought of when I saw this was Arthur Millers "The Crucible" at least I think thats who wrote it. Which makes it very challenge appropriate. I think the red is a great tone expressing mood very well. The ghostly images on the side are awesome. I think this is very artsy. As a photograph, I'm not so sold, but rest assured I like it!
Technical - Not much to say about this. You did a good job making the outer silhouettes pretty opaque. The people with their hands up are well contrasted and dark. Nice job!
Overall - This is maybe not great as a photograph for this site, but I will say that it is a fine piece of art. Very moody and thought provoking I'll be thinking about this for half the day I bet. I'd be getting this one printed up nice and big if it were my photo and hanging it somewhere. Great job with this, even if it sort of skims the edge of what we expect on DPC. I had my doubts when I saw the thumb, but it is really well conceived and taken. - Inspzil |

Composition - Great subject for this photo. I wish I had one of these I might have entered. The lighting is pretty good, but I don't like the reflections of the lights on the hourglass. I don't know if there is anything that could be done about that though. The only thing that might have worked is lighting it more from above but that would dramatically effect how the subject was lit. Good framing with this photo too. I like that this is simple and doesn't have anything else in the frame trying to give too much of a message instead of concentrating on this great subject.
Technical - Really its pretty well taken. I don't see any major flaws with it. Focus and DOF look good and its adequately lit and well framed. Not much to speak of in terms of processing either.
Overall - Nice subject and pretty well taken. Not bad picture, but nothing really dramatic or dynamic about it. I think if you could find a way to soften it up, it would be much better. Ever tried shooting it thru cheesecloth? or a thin scarf? That might help to soften it up a little. Something to try if you never have. Well hope this could be a little bit of help to you. Good luck in future challenges. - Inspzil |

A Cat's Lifeby agorgievComment: Interesting shot. I really like it. I wish it wasn't quite so high key, but aside from that it has a great theme and is extremely well taken. - 9 |

Color Wheelby kandyjComment: Couldn't find anything more bright and colorful? Nice subject and well taken photo. The thing I noticed most was the light reflections on the yellow in front and the red in the back. Nice shot though. |
