Female natureby NunoComment: I think this is a good idea; a breast and hands ought to fit well in a square crop. But these hands don't seem to be expressing female nature. It looks more like someone is holding up a breast in a medical exam and pointing out that something is wrong with the nipple. |

Squares in a Squareby BakerBugComment: This is nice but not very exciting. I don't think the square crop enhances it; I wanted to see more on the right.

Industrial Illuminationby ArtanComment: This is nice, but I'm not responding very positively to it and I'm not sure why. I think it is a bit over-processed; the lighting and colors don't look natural. The gold reflections in the windows also look a bit strange. |

Digital and Analog: Kiss and Make Upby wheeleddComment: I'm very pleased. I didn't expect to get a ribbon for this and to come this close is wonderful! It is my highest score so far.
Thanks for all your kind comments.

Graveyard 2by cfischlComment: I REALLY like this. It evokes the end of life very powerfully.
The brown tones suggest the autumn of the year--or the autumn of a life.
The long shadows suggest that it is late in the day, a feeling that is reinforced by the leafless branches.
We are headed towards the black tombstones. We cannot see them clearly, just as we cannot see how our own lives will end.

Industrial Revolutionby EricMGB1974Comment: I usually like industrial pictures. This one is nice but it doesn't quite make it. The wire across the middle is unfortunate--it splits the picture into two halves that don't come together for me. I like the top half. If you were to crop it (or zoom in) above the wire I think you would have a more powerful and dramatic image. |
