Great idea for the challenge. The one thing I would change would be to get rid of the sungalsses. Seeing his eyes in a close-up this this could make the shot - especailly if you could manage to get a cool reflection in them.

Fly the Flag of Freedom

Wow - could have fit in the members photojournalism challenge - very topical (in Canada, at least). Nice crop, too. If I would suggest one thing, I might have flipped this horizonally, so that the flag flowed out to the right, instead of to the left (not sure this would be legal in basic). Since my eyes typically flow left to right, this change would make the image easier to follow, for me anyway.

great focus - really nice and sharp. A bit more space above the birds head might help, sort of giving him some room to move. He looks a bit cramped.
