Snowy Mountainby JamesterComment: Everything more than 20 ft away looks a little blurry to me; can't tell if it's out of focus or atmospheric haze. |

Strugleby garlicComment: I really like this photo; but I'm not able to connect it to AA's work. (quibble; that stone on the left edge would normally not matter much, but it is one of half a dozen identifiable objects in the photo, so I find it's placement distracting. |

Rocky Mountain Winterby dwterryComment: Strong contrast, yet there is detail in the snow. Crisp from fairly close out to infinity. The meandering stream is a super touch. Definitely evokes AA's work. |

Contemplation (lover's leap)by holdingtimeComment: It's a beautiful, rugged place. I love the way the snow cover accentuates the rugged edges. It looks to me as if the photo is a little low in contrast for the challenge - it would be lovely to see some really punch blacks in some part of the photo. And while it is growing more and more the standard thing to add people to outdoor scenes to 'add interest' I find the person really distracting. |

Wagonby stupidcatComment: It's a clever shot. It may even deserve to win some competition; but perhaps due to my own limited exposure, it does not evoke AA's work. |

Close to Polar Circleby IceRockComment: The sky is gorteous. And though it' a bit static, I like the composition. Is it just me, or does most of the stuff in the foreground look just a little unsharp? In any other challenge this would be a quibble, but in this one it seems more important, especially since the photo is about textures. |

Bleakness of Winterby Moose101Comment: It certainly captures the bleakness of winter. And the tree is a wonderful specimen. Would have loved to see more texture in snow or sky. |
