As a rule I love 'cracks in the sidewalk' shots. Here, however, I find the many plants to be too distracting. And I think the potentially good texture of the stones is not well expressed.

That's a lot to focus on And unfortunately the two objects duke it out for supremacy as the subject, each laughing at the other for being out of focus and some odd color. It was a tough shot, probably made more difficult by being in the shade.

I understand the reason, but I disagree with the choice. The image of the background is too powerful to treat like this. The subject, in all it's sharply focused glory doesn't stand a chance. That's doubly true when it lives where several majof lines in the background cross.
