I shot this with a manual 50mm and about 2 1/4" extension tube with the aperture set at 5.6. The shutter was at 1/125 and I used a 16" soft box - can't tell what it was set at.

DOF was pretty shallow, but I liked the result anyway.

In retrospect, I see that this isn't shot very well.
We had tornado warnings last night as I was about to leave work, so I stayed a while, camera in hand, shooting around the office. Unfortunately, this was shot at 1600 ISO because I was handheld and a little shaky. I'll try to redo this some time. It's a great painting.

I won't eat the cat or drink it's milk.

Some Fungi are wonderful to eat and some are cause for a doctor. I just see it as proof that God has a sense of humor.

You're absolutely right. I thought of that when I cropped it. Unfortunately, I shot it so tightly that there wasn't any room for thirds. And this was the best of the bunch for lighting.
I guess, given the solid black background, that I could have added a large black border and re-cropped, but I just wasn't there last night.

Thanks for the comment.

Actually, I already have a Cat-A-Pult, but never thought about it's possible uses with chickens.
