No gradient applied, but the conditions were extra ordinary because of air pollution from the volcanic eruption in Holuhraun in North Iceland at that time. This is shot with 70-200 mm f/2.8 with a x2 extender @400mm.

I think it was about 5-6 minutes. The time between bursts is varying from 5-10 min.
This bubble is about 2 meters wide and rises up to maybe 60 cm (2ft) before it bursts.
