very fitting title. When I saw title and picture was first loading I thought title came just from a dead tree trunk...WRONG..which is a good thing :-) light areas are somewhat blown out on my monitor but then I'm on a laptop. 6 for shot and 7 for creativity, originality (doubt we'll see another skull in trunk) so overall I give you the higher 7..gl in challenge :-)

very interesting bark on this tree! nice light along trunk. The golden lite area on left middle is where my eye seems to keep ending. and that area is nice. Can't exactly put my finger on what I don't like about the greenery. The blur seems to be moving or something...? 7 for the tree trunk 5 for composition and blur/business around trunk...6 overall..gl in challenge :-)

change the blue sky to white? picture seems to have a "secret garden" feel due to lush deep greens and then the contrast of the stark tree trunk are good. overall I give you 6...gl in challenge :-)

my first reaction to this is...you did this shot to meet a challenge not because it moved something inside you to shoot it????and I'm know i'm wrong...but it's what comes to mind. The green branches in lower right have movement from wind or just blurry? The character of the tree is nice. 5 good luck in challenge :-)

what a nice sky, nice tree, and darn nice grass...and I do understand the use of unusual crop at times. However, i feel like your tree is about to slide off the monitor. Unless you have object on left and right lower that you want to delete why not have this a normal crop? lovely images but I'm not sure about having to lay over to look at this shot. 5 for meeting challenge 7 for grass, tree and sky...so I'm giving the shot a 6..gl in challenge :-)

less blur on foreground, even though I feel you did this cause you liked it. perhaps less gradient on sky? The grass right up front..one blade..white/yellow keeps making me look away from the tree. I do feel you met the challenge 5 and nice colours 6 ..so I give your shot a 6..gl in challenge :-)

the blur behind the buds is nice. wish the mossy part of tree was sharpened more. I do feel you met the challenge even though i had to debate does a bud constitute a tree since the bud is what gets my attention and seems the subject of picture. Taking the bud as a part of the tree I am giving you a 6. 5 on tree and 7 on bud. gl with challenge :-)

first thought is to crop out a good deal of the blue sky. I think it detracts from the blue in the boats in lower portion. I do like the stars. However, stars and moon rays and fog of sorts...lot going on. One set of boats very vivid and the boat overturned under tree I almost missed. Seems to be many things gettin my attention other than the tree. gl in challenge :-)

i'd like to see more detail visible in this tree. Picture does make me feel emotion..primarily..ahhhhhhhh wish I could swim there...tranquility in the city. gl in challenge :-)
