LOVE this image. I may make it one of my favorites. The line that the neck and arm make is VERY strong.

That being said, I will not rate this higher than a 5, because I don't see pain (emotional or physical) in this image. The image is spectacular, but if you showed this image to someone who didn't know the theme of the challenge would they be able to know the message your getting accross? Keep up the great work

You may have tried shinign a desk lamp from the other side of your body where your face is pointing. This would ahve offered a nice kicker/rim light outlining your body. Alsthough the booze is the subject of the image, I wish you werent drowned out in the shadows. Your hair blends in with the dark background and you kind of get lost. Not a bad shot though! Keep that creativity and out-of-the-box thinking coming for next challenge too. :)

GRR. I love this image but I'm not digging your title. Shame and Pain are very different. I feel the pain in the picture, but when I read your title, your image looses its meaning a bit. I also think I would have like this a little more without the cliche hand giving money in the shot. The begger alone with his money pot is sad, painful, and powerful. The hand reaching in sort of takes away from his pain because he's getting helped out! Nice image though. I like the noise and mild colors.

Image size is too small. Use the 640 max edge size specs next time.

Love the shot. I actually am one of the few people who appreciates soft focus sometimes. In my opinion things don't always have to be in crystal clear focus to achieve the artistic style that you were going for.

My biggest problem is that the tear is the only thing representing pain in the babies face. The facial expression is very content and pleasant looking. If he looked more sad, hurt, or emotional in anyway it would be a bit more powerful. Love the fingers on the face though. Very nice image. Keep up the great work! :))

I find the vegitation in the bavkground a bit distrcting. If you stood on something and shot down a bit more so the top edge of the fram was the grass line, it would have been stronger. I also think this would have been a whole point higher if it were B&W.

Love the motion blur! Without it this image would be much worse. Nice job.

Finally a close up face shot with running makeup that I like in this challenge. I thought of doing this too, but I knew it would be too popular so I thought of something else. Nice shot.

One way I judge images is this....

If someone who didn't know the theme of the challenge looked at your image, could they figure out the "message" you were trying to get accross? The answer to that quistion with this image is simply, no! Nobody would know that you are trying to represent Pain with this image. Beautiful shot, but probably will score low this challenge.

Images like this ALWAYS work better in black and white. Give that a try and let me know if you agree.
