A Tasty Portraitby JawnyRicoComment: Whoa, this is an elaborate and gorgeous fruit basket! Congrats on a good showing and a good entry. I think the lighting is great - you kept nearly all the glare off the fruits & veggies in the image. Dpc hates fancy borders :-) Can't do anything about it other than to stop trying fancy borders on dpc entries or live with the reaction, haha. Anyway, this is an excellent job - you're good, Sean! |

The Raiderby JawnyRicoComment: I think it came out good, too - but there's a problem around his head and the other outlines (hands, back, etc.) from the sharpening or something. To fix it, it sometimes works to mask out those parts (zoomed in really, really close) with a clone brush or paint brush set to darken mode. He looks like a really nice guy. I like the composition with the wine bottle :-) |

Smilesby GreetmirComment: I kind of like it and kind of don't :-) The picture itself is awesome. I like the angle a lot. I think I like the overlay, too but maybe it might appeal to me more if it were darker or faded, or perhaps both. Also, I wonder how it would be if you tried masking out some parts of the overlay while leaving other parts in. It's so much fun experimenting with processing techniques! |

Slow Deathby JuliadavisComment: ewwwwww, it must've hurt! I like Bear's comment a lot, because I also had to look for a second before I saw all those ants, but then I was hooked on the image. I guess my eye went first to the charcoal-looking bark. This is a really cool picture and inspiring me to try out my S3 a little more often. You must've been extremely close!
Please try to avoid throwing things your cats eat if my car happens to pass by :-)
Can I have my hug now? |

Day 5 Home Sweet Homeby ElaineComment: Very pretty house! I like the dormers above the garage. Nice to see that you have just the right amount of snow, too. That is, enough for it to feel like winter, but little enough that you're not house-bound. Nice shot. |
