I love the fact that you have so successfully nailed the theme without resorting to the use of filters in post-processing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising those who have used such filters, but I'm full of extra admiration and delight at the creativity and beauty of your image, which uses none.

Clever, I like how you've created a shadow story of a man either hanging on (as your title suggests) or chained up (as was my initial interpretation before reading your title). The strong colours and textures are really great as is the composition. I like this very much.

An interesting street scene, reminds me a little of one of e301's images, though his is in black and white and the composition is stronger for me. I like the non-standard composition here too and the many repetetive lines. I like too the textures in the road and paint surface plus the dark solid black of the man and his shadow.

Unusual and interesting. Kind of makes me think about where this is and who placed that chair out there and who is it that sometimes sits there and watches the world. Like the way the chair is in light.

Funky perspective and funky long twin shadows. Strong contrast from the strong lighting against the dark shadows works well. Oh and composition is unusual but strong.

The pools of light and the extensive shadows make this quite intriguing. I like the pattern of light and shadow falling onto the wall, presumably through a latticed window or wall. The yellow light and the white light source on the ground throw up interesting textures and details too. And then there's the enigmatic individual lurking in the shadows. Waiting.

The shadows of that central tree merging into the larger foreground shadow on the land are just amazing - especially the way in which they are softened by the early morning mist. THe light and cloud lines are magical too. Great image.
