Lighting seems a little low although I can appreciate that this may have been a deliberate choice made to enhance to dark mood of the content. I like the reflection and the gentle pinks of the sky.

What an expressive face... that forehead is just great for shape and shadow. Like the way the ciggie gives a diagonal and counter point to the eyes. Lighting isn't superb but doesn't spoil it too much. Excellent portrait. Is it someone you know or a stranger?

Desolated: make up for nobody

Quirky and stylised, certainly compelling - I like the expression and the way the make up pulls me towards her eyes. The high contrast works well for this.

Nice focal point and certainly gives a feeling of a long lonely time passing. Low viewpoint is interesting. Black and white/ colourised treatment is also, though a touch pink for me.

Desolated

I like this idea very much. My first comment would be that, because the model's hair is black, the choice of black clothes makes it hard for me to make out his bowed head - and I think it would be stronger if I could make it out. Nice choice for environment and clever use of the rusted colours as well as the strong lines and angles.
