Sound Waves...or...Can You Hear Me Now?by Firstrich1Comment: With a less orange colour tone this would have been a 10.
As it is I think it's a wonderful image that captures beautifully that early childhood wonder with the basics of science.
Nice use of depth of field to show distance of furthest child from main subject.
Eye contact from front child absolutely makes the image work.

The Science of Detectionby agwrightComment: Fabulous! Great subject matter and beautifully presented.
I love the starkness of such a rich black on such bright white.
I think the imperfections within the plastic of the ruler and the slight messiness of the printed measurements (when viewed at this scale) add greatly to the image.
Fingerprint is a great shape. I want to move it to the left a smidgin in terms of horizontal centre.
Border just right for this image.

Dew Studyby michaeldebruynComment: My only 10 vote in this challenge, I think this is simply beautiful.
The background is dark enough to be a perfect backdrop and yet retains a richness of it's own with great colour and a wonderful dappled pattern.
The colour and light within the main object are also just right - it's quite magical.
Hope you're looking at a ribbon for this one, but even if you aren't - you should know that it's really a rather stunning picture regardless. |

Roseby robsmithComment: Lighting too spot focused on petals - the greenery seems to fall out of the light into the darkness. Perhaps that's a deliberate choice but it doesn't add anything to me. Nor does the central (somewhat stagnant ) composition. I think I can see the idea you were striving for (a simple elegance with limited but vibrant colours) but the composition and lighting don't quite pull that off for me.

A Brief Moment In Timeby robsmithComment: This is great! The lighting/ exposure are superb - especially for a long exposure such as this. I was here only a week or two ago and also found the cranes and paraphernalia of modern architecture surrounding St Pauls to be quite intriguing. What I like most about this is the way you pull people into the image without actually focusing on individuals since the essence of Urbanity is the population inhabiting it. This really is one of my favourite entries in this challenge. |

Graffitiby nfesselComment: I'm a sucker for colourful, gritty graffiti shots. This one is great but I'd prefer the door not to be centred within the frame... |

Water Symphonyby crabappl3Comment: Makes a boring building much more interesting - and I do like the motion capture of the water. |

16th & Chestnut Stsby gakoutComment: This could almost be one of those atmospheric Parisian images - the steam helps with that too - but the composition doesn't work for me and the right hand side of the frame doesn't add anything. |

docklandsby deceptiveComment: Beautiful. Love the reflections, the way they disappear into darkness. Great composition. Lighting excellent. |
