Resting on waterby dusikComment: Very pretty - particularly the capture of the surface tension shapes. For me I find the bright light spots too strong in comparison with the muted colours of the leaf. I think they'd be OK if the leaf still had some more of it's autumn bright colours though I appreciate that the mood of the image would then be different. Basically I think the background is just too dynamic for the muted beauty of the faded leaf. |

A Small Aubergineby gandersComment: The background is distracting and lighting is too harsh. The drops of water do add interest but are just too many and too small. The beautiful rich aubergine colour has not really been captured. The composition is somewhat static. |

Leaf in sepia - macro studyby kosmikkreeperComment: Some beautiful detail and the lighting is really bringing out the map of veins. Not so keen on the misty quality of the upper left area and upper right tip. |

Just Add Breathby KoriyamaComment: Interesting lighting (with it's yellow colour) and nice composition. Music pattern on recorder looks good against black background. |

Holding Stillby K-RobComment: The use of light and shadow almost cuts the three fingers in the foreground off from the rest of the hand - kind of weird and intriguing. |

In The Presence of Graceby magnetic9999Comment: Nice cloud and light interest in the sky and the silhouette is pleasingly simple. The cloud at top left is letting through just a touch too much bright white light I think. Also I find this somewhat sinister image, it kind of makes me think of how the church (in the UK) is losing followers and is in a dark hour. That's just me though. Pink light at the edge of the clouds is the nicest element. |

Flower and Vaseby JackoComment: I really like this - how refreshing to see the flower head on and the shadow providing the context of vase etc. A great composition and the pink background works beautifully. |

light, feather, shadow IIby ursulaComment: So light, so soft. I can feel the breeze. A beautiful image with wonderful loose composition and the most beautiful light on the feather. I love the DOF choice throwing the backmost fringes of the feather out of focus. |

Come back!by kiwinessComment: A beautiful portrait - the lines of the blind and the light and shadow lines on the model really add interest. The pool of light around her left eye and the highlight within it are particularly good. |
