Soft Spikesby robsmithComment: Oooh sort of dreamy. I quite like the softness in this (and I'm NOT a fan of soft focus) - it seems to serve a purpose (other than simply meeting the challenge) which is to contrast with the spikiness of the subject matter. Spiky subject, soft treatment. Finding the image a touch too dark overall. |

FESTIVE SMELLby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: That's my kind of mishap! (I accidentally put Olbas Oil in an eye last Thursday instead of eye drops and I broke my toe on Sunday)
I like the fact that the image makes me wonder what happens: Do the owners catch the mishap and put it out in time? Does their tree go up in flames? Does hte entire house burn down? How do they fare? Are they OK?
An interesting image! |

Scent of Corianderby BBBastetComment: Beautiful close up and excellent composition, the cross shape is wonderful and the position of the pepper and cinammon really works well. Colour is a little toooo red. |

Puffby beachhopprComment: Lighting is very harsh and unflattering. Good that background crowd are not well lit and fade into background. Some smoke would be a good addition. |

Love it or hate itby jonpinkComment: Love it! I've never seen this variety before though (with the red inner skin). Nice low DOF. |

Cigar Smokeby hopperComment: Lovely shapes and lighting but it's pulling my eye out of frame towards the cigar - it's almost like it's pointing out of the frame. |

The Scent of a Womanby TerryGeeComment: Nice shot, good choice to go close in - the curve of her neck and shoulder is very strong and I like how the curve of the hand mirrors the lower egde of it. Nice choice for b/w and nice choice to have so much grain. |
