I like the shape of the opening but find the foreground frame is essentially just providing an uneven border here rather than being an object in it's own right. That said, I like the image very much. The composition of what one can see through the frame is excellent - position of the lighthouse works very well. Cloud detail provides nice balance.

I really like the frame itself - the shape, viewpoint and textures are great. I'm not as keen on the view that is being framed, I just don't find it very appealing. Did you take any similar shots from some of the other tunnels? Just wondered.

Like a llama...or an Emu

I love the way the fencing here not only creates a frame (which improves the image on a compositional level) but also provides a context by communicating the bird's captive status. Black and white works very well. Catchlights in the eyes are just right. Nicely out of focus plants in background add interest but don't distract. Excellent!

The Lady with the Lantern

She doesn't strike me as an imaginary creature or character so much as a human girl dressed in an outfit from times gone by. It's rural rather than fairy tale to me. That said it's a lovely image and perhaps she's looking, in surprise, at some imaginary creatures out of shot? Link to challenge is weak for me but image is strong. 7 overall.

Lovely lighting - I always feel that light filtered through tree canopies and falling to the ground in ray upon ray has a slightly unreal feel about it - just like a fairy tale. Not sure about the blue colour cast though. 7

Nice! Reminds me of the 1990 film version of Romeo and Juliet. Lighting seems a little harsh - the whites seem a bit blown out for my tastes. 7

On Her Way to Grandma's House

One of few attempts to bring an old and well known fairy tale into modern times. Very witty using a hooded sweatshirt to replace the hooded cape of the original. Nice touch to include only a small part of the wolf and again, very witty with the sharp suit and cigarette. 8
