Another lovely portrait of Kojo. Beautiful.

I'm a little unsure of the white blobs that seem to affect both the background of the image area and the border area too? Is that an affect of the scanning?

What a shame this scored so poorly - it's clearly a stronger image than many that ranked above it - it's nicely composed, the content accurately reflects the film and it's certainly high impact. Clearly you suffered from the reaction to the extremely unappealing subject matter. Please don't assume from your score that your image is not a good one.

The lady bird looks like an item of jewellery. The guilding is perfectly clear and the tiny reflections of light in the legs and underbody add just the right touch of detail. The composition is very unusual and the shallow DOF changes this from the more standard macro image to a much more artistic one. Very nice shallow DOF and particularly love the gradiated colours of the background. 9

I'm a sucker for textures and I particularly like the contrast between the rigid, repetitive feather and the worn and faded surface beneath. The composition, with the two sweeping lines of feather quill and edge, is punctuated perfectly by the water droplet. Yellow is also one of my favourite colours. Altogether a beautiful shot. 9

Hi Matt
No problem in my providing feedback, this is one of the nicer children pics entered into this challenge IMHO. I gave it a 7 though I mentally put it at about 7.5!
I like the composition well, though I think you could do with a touch more image at the left and a touch left at the right. He feels too far to the left to me. I love the very low viewpoint; it really takes us into his world. The total concentration is a feeling we have all experienced and the freedom to be so absorbed in leisure, in the way that young children often are, is something we all still hanker after. That's what makes this a universal image for me rather than a boring shot of someone's kid. I like your choice to present the image in toned black and white ; it adds a timeless quality. I also like the out of focus crowd far behind, the pretty clouds in the sky and the lovely texture of the sand in the foreground. Altogether a lovely image and grows on me the more I view it.

Wonderful candid showing the sweet individuality of children.
If only the roof at the left didn't break the symmetry of the building backdrop! I'd almost be tempted to crop the top floor out and present this a panoramic.

Cropping to straighten the horizon would help a lot on this, even if the horizon isn't straight in real life. A great capture with lovely depth of colour in the blues.

I remember this and I do think it's a wonderful juxtaposition of real man and keys with fantasy car and giant sexy lady. If the image were taken a split second earlier or later to show a touch more of the man's face it would be an even stronger image for me and I think it's great already. 8
