Colours seem strongly oversaturated. That green is so vivid it competes for attention against the birds and wins.

Careless cropping (either when taking or processing) means losing the rest of that crown. Good to have some reflection in the eye yet this image seems dark given that indication of light.

Absolutely great detail on the bird - I can see the feathers so clearly, and wonderful colour too. I really don't like the artificial way that the focus has been taken away from the person holding and kissing the bird at all though. Also, I don't like the way that the background seems to have been painted over with yellow and orange. There are also some strange artifacts in that yellow and orange area on the left.

Diagonal is interesting but doesn't save this from being too static and too uninteresting an image. The detail is nice, it's good that you have that eye detail too. I think the grass being in the same plane as the bird and therefore in focus definitely doesn't help make the bird pop out.

That eye really is something isn't it? Such a strong focal point. Somehow it's position within the frame doesn't feel quite right - almost centred yet not centred. There seems to be some blowout in the whites which is a shame but not too bad.

Ha haaa, this one makes me smile. Nice detail in the beak and eye but DOF may be just a touch too shallow as I'd also like detail in the fur on the head and neck.

Nice capture and good detail in white feathers so very nicely exposed but background really doesn't work well.

Nice to show the environment but in this case the bird is not a strong focal point. Firstly because it's in the shadow whereas the brightest area is the grass behind - need more light on it and less elsewhere - and secondly because the image has detail from foreground all the way through to background - shallow DOF and blurred background might help.

Sweet capture of behaviour but, for an image to work for me on a visually appealing level, I need more eyes and less arse. Background also uninspiring too detailed.

Cute! I really like the ducklings themselves and the light in their eyes is great. What I dislike is the distraction of those white rocks behind. Even the rusty container isn't ideal but it's less of a distraction than the rocks.
