Inside looking out. Outside looking in.by front_elementComment: This is great - too many of the entries here include windows for the sake of meeting the challenge - they aren't integral to the image and, in many cases, add little or nothing to it. This one is different - not only do I love the depth of field choice and the unusual composition, I like the subject too - it just WORKS! |

As Life Passes by ArtysteComment: This one stood out for me when I skimmed through some of the entries yesterday... it's charming. I really love the way the light falls on her face and hair and just gives her a golden halo. I like her pose in the window and the hint of a smile on her face. I love that I don't know what she's looking at but want to know. I love the out-of-focus background - lovely colours and shapes but lack of detail is just right. I like the framing of the window and the flowers at the top. Only thing I don't like is lack of closure of frame at top of the shot... But this is a GREAT shot! |

End of the journeyby olbolComment: Nice orange lighting evokes quite a strong sense of mood. Like the use of the battered case to give me a context. |

Kneel Down To The Lightby cubixComment: Lighting truly is the be-all and end-all of photography and you've really used it to powerful effect here. How clever to convey so much mood just with lighting. Love it! |

Nirvanaby GermaineComment: What a beautiful scene and you've captured it in such wonderful light- that mist on the water is beautiful. I love the silhouette of the seated man though he's rather too centred for the composition to be as strong as it might for me. I like the large area of negative space provided by the sky. Dark foreground is a bit messy... Great pic overall. |

Reunited by Keith ManiacComment: Oooh this is cool... works really well. More arty than typical photo so might be voted down by DPCers but I think it's clever. |

Producing electricity againby mimidComment: This looks a bit like Battersea Power Station or a similar one elsewhere... long since abandoned. Clever positioning of the cloud to imply that it's coming out of the chimney. My fear for you is that many of the viewers won't get that it's a closed power plant, even with the title... but maybe I'm underestimating "joe average voter"? |

Heart-le-Poolby tonyvComment: A sweet idea. Because of the angle of view a lot of the impact of the shape is lost as it's obviously skewed by perspective. Compositionally this isn't strong for me with the heart floating in the middle of a somewhat nondescript pool though the patterns are somewhat interesting. The reflection at the top left is distracting though the dark green shadow at the bottom is OK. |
