It's a very enjoyable photograph, thanks. Lots of interest and a very nice graphic harmony in all the elements.

As an aside, having ridden motorcycles & scooters, I must say that having your feet so high above the bike's centre-of-gravity would have to feel most precarious. Just look at how high his feet are! Now imagine laying that bike over to turn a slippery corner. Good Grief! Splat!

Yes, a street treat (and a Street treat) that works it's ass off with layered interest. An Eveready Energizer of a picture.

Interesting to compare the graffiti with that evident in this recent version. Maybe you took your spray can with you? Naughty!

I liked that other version a lot, but now I see that I like this one even more.

I gave you a 5: sometimes I think you're just ordinary. Of course I am dead wrong a hell of a lot. I can't believe that is IR. How'd she get so big so fast? Or how'd I lose some years again? Cheers.

I will be the dissenting voice you're looking for I guess, but I know the photographer won̢۪t mind that because he was generous enough to explain with detailed comments his own low votes on quite a few entries in the Best Of 2011 challenge.

I won̢۪t say that this picture is painfully kitsch, because that would be a subjective judgement, or at least a matter of good taste.

I won’t say that it is a cliché because that would also be unfair: if for example the viewer is either new to photography or is a naturally undiscriminating and credulous soul then this may well be seen as an extremely impressive picture.

I won̢۪t say that this depiction of a fellow human being is artless, cheesy, tacky and unsympathetic, because there̢۪s an eager audience for that sort of thing and who am I to spoil their simple and presumably solitary pleasures?

I will say that I gave it a 3 because:
(a) I never give less than 3, and
(b) the picture has left absolutely nothing for me to contribute to it â€Â¦ it’s closed, finished, complete, shut, and leaves nothing to the viewer’s imagination. Nothing at all. There's no opportunity for engagement with it on any level other than the clinical/technical. It’s superficially pretty, but beyond that it’s really quite barren.

I mean no disrespect of course, and I acknowledge that my view is in the minority, but I hope the photographer and his many ardent fans will be pleased to hear even minority views on such an important picture.

I underestimated this (but absolutely nicht drei!). My only excuse is that I just didn't see at it. I looked at it, yes, but didn't see. I am sorry for my failure, but pleased to have this second chance. And congrats on the well deserved Hand of the Dead Guy. He often gives me a second chance.

Thanks Henry! Yes, I was very pleased with that outcome, although bvy would take the view that the score was rather too high to be entirely convincing.

I did get a dismissive and bewildered comment from mike_311 which is of course quite encouraging, but I failed to attract one of the many disapproving comments made by LalliSig, so maybe I can't after all count this picture as an unqualified triumph. Oh, bugger!

Stop sneaking in all this culture bullshit, OK? We have a name for your kind here: 'thinkers'. So just quit it right now, or you'll be sent to the naughty corner, just like e301 and ergo, et alia.

P.S. It's like a really really kooooool pic, dude! (and that's how we like it)

Oh come on, man. Essentially the same handful of tired, boring and mind numbingly artless pictures have won literally hundreds of 'real' DPC ribbons in the past. And the authors weren't even trying to be amusing, so they had no excuse at all.
