Paradise by the Dashboard Light.by thrumyiisComment: All I love is here: glorious kitsch, road trips, the documentary mood of black & white, and the askew alignment as if Hunter S Thompson is lolling back in the passenger seat screwing around with someone else's camera. This is irresistibly interesting. Thank you. |

Affannoso moderato con fangoby jjbeguinComment: I don't see how this cannot be the work of Jean-Jacques Béguin. Title's a strong hint of course, but so's the gentle sense of humour balanced with the sharp instinct for unexpected beauty. It's elegantly done, and isn't all over with the first minute's contemplation. The light, especially above the horizon, is beautifully painterly. Molte grazie. |

a taleby cutoutComment: Wow! A hundred abstracts, with bottle. And the superimposed wire man is enjoying figuring it out almost as much as I am. I think he's even whistling with delight. It's beautiful, and endlessly interesting. I'm always thrilled by how pictures like this are never done; there's more, and different, with every viewing. It's the sort of picture I'd hang in my own house, because it would surprise me every day. Thank you. |

Echoesby vawendyComment: Yep, if there's one thing I love about photography it's photographs where a good part of the picture is outside the frame. If it's all inside the frame, it's too easy to say, "Oh yes, I know that (bird/situation/scene/whatever)." But here we are obliged to give it a good shake of the curiosity and imagination, and that's always a good thing. Always! The picture is no longer just yours; it's become ours. Yours and mine. Yours and any viewer's. Thank you. |

nothing is rightby mitalapoComment: I love a photograph where nothing is right, because it causes the viewer to have to slip the mind out of neutral and apply some traction, or drive, of their own to resolve it. This is one of those discombobulating gems. Thank you. |

seeby NeatComment: Just wonderful! This exuberant marching, so savagely and effectively obstructed by the banner. It's indeed a see-and-do photo, and I like it a lot. Quirky, interesting and pleasingly unconventional. Thank you. |

Noahby odriewComment: I like the tones, and of course I love all that rain spatter. It's dark (a good thing) and also clever ... the bird animates everything including the apt title. Also I very much like the fact that the human figure is places unconventionally, with so much of the picture behind him. It's good to see all these sacred cows turned upside down to such good and interesting effect. Thank you. |

storm boyby AbraComment: Hard to think of a photograph that revolves so much around a relatively small point; the eyes of the boy. Maybe J-J Beguin's Eye Contact. The boy's gaze is a skewer, piercing right through the viewer. It's a remarkable shot. Thank you. |

Sunday's Bestby instepsComment: Terrific! This is such a great composition, with hints of Albrecht Durer in the implied crucifix, but modern too with the balancing crops of the adult figures. Plus it's an entertaining, lively street picture. Very, very nice. Thank you. |

in passingby tangueraComment: Just the most gorgeous tones! The beautiful photography of the writhing roots and scattered leaves is as good as I have ever seen of such a difficult subject. And lucky for me you have sneaked in a bit of whimsy with the oddball crop of the en passant legs! So I loved this picture on both levels, and I thank you. |
