Textures in the Sky - Noctilucent cloudsby timluComment: Lovely photograph and lovely new (for me) word; "noctilucent" .. presumably it means shining or glowing at night. The effect is of a water surface, viewed from below. Beautiful, and a thoroughly legitimate texture study. 7 |

Ropeby StagoleeComment: Very classy photograph. Sometimes it's the most humble of subjects that offers us the most pleasing artistic rewards. Nice work. 7. |

no words needed by eirasiComment: Great image of a classic textured profile. I very much like the composition and of course the lighting. The exposure is very good, and the processing is terrific. 9 |

Knocking on Heaven's Doorby p2jvrComment: Love the song and love your photograph. This is a very interesting gate. The textures in the wood and in the metal are sympathetically handled in your nicely lit and well-exposed image. 7 |

Lily Padsby sartobrComment: This is the most interesting photograph of lily pads I've seen. I love the way you've captured the light on the softly curled edges of the pads. Featuring the single flower balanced by the opposing patch of clear water was also very effective. I applaud the overall composition, the crop (if any) and the chosen depth of field. Overall, a lovely photograph. Bravo! 8 |

Work in progressby andriComment: This peeling paint has a strange, cave-painting quality, I guess because of the apparent human figure on the right. Love the water spigot. Overall, it's an absorbing image with a very pleasing feel to it. 7 |

Old and brokenby JohannesFrankComment: Nicely composed to show the several interesting textures. I hate it when people say this, but I'd also love to see this as a contrasty B&W. ( I hate it because it's like saying, "Thanks for the fried egg, but can you make it look more like bacon?"). Anyway, I do like your image just as it is as well. 7 |

Bark & Grassby snellslawComment: There's something about this lovely, spare image that I find very appealing. The contrasting textures of the two subjects are very effectively shown. The lighting is beautiful. But I think it's the composition and the bold crop that I like best. 8 |

Lavender's Blue (Dilly Dilly)by ArtanComment: Striking scene and well photographed to emphasise the soft, tactile nature of the lavender rows. Like a macro of a bath mat! 7 |
