Quite beautiful. Easy to make a cliché out of this, but you didn't fall for that at all. A graphically sublime marriage of tones, colors and shapes makes this a great secret abstract. A person of exactly the right prominence makes it something else as well. Super duper! 9.

Wonder-filled photograph. Wonderful. Crop, tongue, knee, exposure, frame; it's all good. 9.

If he was still here I'd give this to boysetsfire, but as he ain't, you must be either Ed or Nixter. It's a very 'Trent Parke' image, but of course he's not here either. Unless he's slumming, of course. 9.

Very nice. Suffers a bit from the lack of a more prominent person at the fore (I mean physically prominent ... larger ... I don't know what the guy's financial and social status is). But it's still very good. 8.

Strangely compelling. I suppose you manufactured this juxtaposition, but it seems coherent anyway. 9.

A brilliant portrait. It harks back to those wonderful Farm Security Administration images from the 1930s and 40s but it has an altogether more optimistic character. No evidence of despair or disorientation here. The guy is a brilliant photographic subject, and the balance you have given him between his modest house and his loving boys makes a very fine observation about the essence of contentment. 9.

This is exceptional for the inspired composition. A lesser photographer might have tried to include all of the doll, and thus would have lost all of the story. You're not a lesser photographer. 9.

Very good. Title's almost too cute, but it must have been irresistible. It has a wonderful graphic impact just for the familiar/unfamiliar shapes of the reversed letters, and then another quieter dimension as the scene beyond introduces itself. 9.

I've see thousands of gull shots, and taken a few dozen myself. They're sometimes amusing, occasionally funny, but only very rarely interesting beyond that. This one breaks the chain ... it's terrific. My new all-time favorite in the genre. It's just such a startling point-of-view which I have probably seen many times myself without ever having actually seen it at all. 9.

Superb. It's hard to do a pet portrait that isn't overly sentimental. This isn't. It's more of a character study. A very good one. 8.
