Taking Timeby fencekickerComment: Well, it's different. Wish the hand was in focus instead of the clock - or maybe both with more DOF would be best yet. Lighting could be stronger (yet diffused), and a polarizer would reduce some glare on the clock face glass. Compositionally, it's too tight. Need a little breathing room for the subject. I like how you used a black background. Good luck in the challenge. |

Stop !by MambeComment: Something seems off in the color balance. Maybe too warm? Almost has a sepia tone to it but I'm not sure you intended that. The background is distracting over the shoulder. White, black, or light blue instead might have worked better. With some different positioning that background could have been eliminated almost entirely. It's a unique approach to the challenge, just not quite right technically. Good luck in the challenge. |

Bouquet for the Teacherby brizmamaComment: Originally posted by glad2badad: Very creative concept. A little hot (overexposed) - this would have scored higher if it wasn't. 5 from me for creativity, could have been an 8. Hopefully I'm an anomaly. ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |
I should have kept the score a secret? I'm the only one not marked helpful. :( |

I hear a Bee buzzing around...by dassilemComment: A couple of things I can point out for you if you're interested. ;^)
First, what is the subject of your image - footwear or tattoo? The challenge theme is footwear, but your title points to the other. If I were to look at this image without knowing what the challenge is and without your title, I would say the subject is the tatoo. This may have garnered some low votes from the DNMC crowd. Yes, technically you have footwear in there...
Second, the image is a bit flat. The lighting is ok, but nothing jumps out or "pops" here. Some additional contrast would help alot, some experimenting with more dramatic lighting could be considered, maybe even a different background?
Last, the image is soft. Nothing really begs for attention that is sharply in focus.
What it all boils down to is (in this case) you needed to define the subject more clearly and make it more interesting/artistic rather than a documentary/snapshot type image.
Hopefully, I didn't ramble too much and this is helpful in some way. Take care! ;^) |

HOMEWORK !!! #@#§% homework...by np22saComment: She doesn't look THAT upset. Looks more like a note to a friend or something she's working on. ;^) The B/W treatment works well for this image. Good luck in the challenge. |

Chemistry by jodiecostonComment: Ahhh... A refreshing take on the challenge. Thank you! ;^) Well done. Fun color, good subject (beakers), nice lighting and reflections. I do wish the DOF was a little deeper to put the front beaker in focus. Good luck in the challenge. |

this is highschool.by drudruComment: Seems like a bit of a disconnect with the type on the page versus an ink pen. Why not write the words out instead of sticking a piece of paper on the notepad? The message is funny. Lighting is a little harsh (a softbox or light tent would help some with this).
Anyway. Good luck in the challenge. ;^) |

Educational Goals...by shadowdoc31Comment: Very pixelated (it's an extremely small file - don't compress so much). Composition of the image is too busy - what's the subject, where should I look, what's the focal point? It appears to be an overcast day, but the image is still dark and under-exposed. Hope I'm not being too blunt. I wish you the best of luck. ;^) |

Zoo field trip aftermathby brianedenComment: Ok. That title gave me a smile. ;^) Well composed on your image. Would be nice to have a bit deeper tone in the sky background, but hey, can't always have everything. Good luck in the challenge. |
