Stationary Stationeryby WillSnapsComment: Funny one. This would have really jumped out on a flat black background, or black with glass if you wanted the reflection. The wood grain is distracting. Nice idea. Good luck. |

Going nowhere fastby DJWoodwardComment: Great title, nice subject and setting for this image. Needing a contrast boost and levels adjustment to make this image stand out. Ideally, another time of day (early or late) would be best to really get some nice lighting on this subject. |

I AM HEREby alecnormanComment: Emotive shot. I hope you made a contribution after getting his image.
In some small way I feel like this image is a bit exploitive. JMO, and I know all the legal mumbo jumbo about his being in public, etc...but still.
As for the image qualities I'm finding the background just a little distracting. Perhaps the people walking by add to the context of this man's plight, but a step or two to the left would make this a stronger portrait shot IMO. The exposure and details of the image subject are very well done.
Good luck in the challenge. |

At Restby TampaDanComment: I don't know how you did that, but the way this worked out I just finished voting on the image titled "On Sunday, this excavator is .................".
Then I see this image and the title is "At Rest". Too funny! ;^)
Actually, I like this tighter shot better. A little easier to isolate the subject (less busy).
Good luck in the challenge. Message edited by author 2006-07-19 08:21:33. |

"...as still as a stone ...."by kari1Comment: I really like the warm tones in this. The one thing I'm not comfortable with in the composition is the sky in the background. Don't know if you could have changed your position to get more elevated, or move to your left. By scrolling down on this voting page I can "crop" the image to see what it looks like without the sky and communication tower. The reason I mention getting more elevated is to try and not lose the left pine tree by pulling the top of the image down some. Take a peek for yourself...see what you think. JMO of course. I still like it and think it's one of the better images I've seen in the challenge thus far (rated 31 of 284).
Good luck in the challenge. |

ground control .. permission to land ?by ramiComment: Nice image as far as a photo goes. Would like to see a little more "breathing" room in front of the bird compositionally. As for the challenge, I'm not getting a 'Stationary' connection. Isn't the bird moving at a pretty good clip? |

stationarysunby lightningComment: Nice comp. Well exposed. I hope people remember that the earth moves and don't hit you up (vote down) by thinking this is a "shoe-horned" image. Good luck in the challenge. |
