Spotless . . . almostby TammerComment: Where's the color? Where's the contrast? Oh...you meant to do it this way. :D It's interesting. Not sure that I like it that much. Certainly is artistic and you've used some OOB thinking in your approach. As with all art, some like it and others, well... Kudos for being creative and taking a chance. Good luck in the challenge. |

Under the spot lightby StagoleeComment: It's "ok". Feels a little disconnected as a storyline. I think it's the expression on his face, the frazzled hair, and the sweat. He looks tired - perhaps you meant it to come across this way. Maybe it's the color of the "spots"? Hard to explain, but the image feels drab and depressing. Maybe a brighter color choice for the spots, like royal blue or something? I don't know. Sorry, wish I could explain it better. Anyway, best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Water Drops on Hawaiian Geckoby QuincyComment: Two initial reactions. 1st is way cool, 2nd is way oversharpened. The oversharpening is really hampering the potential of this photo IMO. Good luck in the challenge. |

Jamed Spotsby ustiebitzComment: What in the world is it? I see a few spots and a lot of smears. This is interesting as an abstract kind of photo, but seems like a bit of a stretch for "Spots". The texture and color tones are cool. JMO of course. Good luck. |

Cagedby cresusComment: Nice composition in placing of the subject in the framing of this photo. Need way more light, and the eyes are a little too blurry for maximum impact. Good luck in the challenge. |

Spots on the Sandby BrianRComment: This is neat in an abstract way. The footprints add authenticity to the photo. Not sure what the "spots" are, but it's fun to try and figure out. :D I've seen this drop-shadow framing in a couple of challenges now. It's unusual enough that you're going to start giving yourself away, that is, if I'm correct in assuming it's the same person doing it. :P Good luck in the challenge. |

dry seasonby tcmartinComment: Tricky. :D In trying to determine if the "giraffe" was looking away or at the viewer I had to look close. Then I noticed that this is all a setup. :P The lack of any hair detail, some shine on the "face", and lack of a tail kind of gave it away. The background is either way overexposed, or the saturation levels have been pushed beyond recovery. |

Spotty, Spotty Nightby MelicityComment: Certainly have some spots. :D I wish the exposure time was either longer or shorter. The short motion trails of the stars make it look blurry. Longer would show intentional, shorter would be cooler (if possible). The red sky is nice as a background. Good luck in the challenge. |

Wounded Ladybirdby MonicagdComment: Looks to be beyond "wounded" to me. :D Nothing personal, but it's a little close to being kind of disgusting. I know it's only a bug, but still... As for the technicals, I think the composition is a little too tight, and the lighting is a bit harsh on the left. Color saturation is ok, getting some yellow bleed over onto the bugs shell casing. All of the above is JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Let it Ride..by BoBaLLoOoComment: A unique use of dice for this challenge. Kudos for being different. The B/W tone is good as is the clarity of the photo. Composition is "ok". I like the empty space showing around the hand in various places, the alignment of the dice feels unbalanced for some reason. Sorry I can't be more specific - hard to explain I guess. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
