I like this. Good message, clever idea, proper composition with your placement of key elements. Only minor complaint from me is the slight tilt of the wastebasket. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Clever concept. Based on the way you've put this together (text orientation on the batteries and left/right positions) it looks like the 'Energizer' batteries are chasing the 'Duracell' ones. Hard to tell if that was your intention or not. The lighting is a little harsh, try using a diffuser on your lights if you can (white tissue paper or a thin sheet, or direct the light at a whiteboard where the light bounces back at the subject).

Good luck in the challenge.

Looks more like psycho batteries to me! :D Interesting setup you've done here to get these reflections. If the details were stronger (better focus and exposure) this could be a decent scoring image. Good luck in the challenge.

It's tough to have an item this close and get everything in focus. Sometimes even a deep aperture (i.e. f22) won't do it. If you back up and zoom in it can work - experiment some. Anyway, point I'm making is the battery laying down isn't in focus and neither is the very top of the standing battery. Focal point is on the standing battery about 1/3 of the way down (you can tell by looking at the text). I don't know if the little piece of white was an accident or on purpose, but it actually adds to this photo. Another thing to look at is sizing. You're allowed a maximum of 640 on the long side, you've only used 500. Always take advantage of the larger size for better impact and detail. JMO of course. :D Good luck in the challenge.

Fun idea, but it didn't quite work out this time. The lighting on the battery isn't strong enough and there is quite a bit of noise in this. Good luck.

Now if you just had a tiny little key to put on that salt... :D This is well done and a neat idea. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Nice crisp image. At first I thought it was just a bunch of batteries kind of stacked up. Then I read your title. Looked again and saw "Mr. Coppertop". He gets lost with the higher stack off to the side behind him. :( Clever idea. Good luck in the challenge.

Clean, simple idea - which is fine. Image is too noisy/grainy for a studio setup shot. Did you crop this in from a larger photo? If yes, try and get closer and fill the frame initially as that will reduce noise. Did you underexpose and bring back the details in post-processing? If yes, try and expose/light the subject a little better initially instead of attempting to recover in post-processing. Also, check your ISO setting. Use the lowest ISO your camera allows for shots like this. All of the above is JMO of course. :D Good luck.

Clever title and take on the challenge theme. Couple of things that are holding this photo back on scoring. Color temp is way off - if you adjust your white balance this would look white instead of yellow. Line in the background where your backgrounds meet shouldn't be visible. Diffuse your lighting some to eliminate the harsh glare that you've gotten on the back side of the saucer. The positioning of your subject is good as is the focus. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Cute title! Gives this pile of batteries a whole new perspective. :D I don't know what it is that you used as the background, but I like the color for this (bronze). The dust specks in the upper right are a minor distraction. Good luck in the challenge.
