I like how you've captured this with some open space for the background. The image seems slightly underexposed and perhaps a bit soft in the area that matters the most (the animals head and eyes).

I always find this type of imagery difficult. Which pieces do you keep, which parts get cropped. Are there enough elements in the comp that are in focus - does it matter if they aren't? In addition, there are so many angled lines that it's tough to find the spot to finish the canvas. Kudos to you for the attempt. It's a pleasing presentation AND it's been a brain teaser too as I try to figure out what, if anything, could be discarded to make it better. :-) Would love to sit down with a cold one and have this discussion in person (with the image in question displayed in front of us)! Butts in Black & White

This is fun and I'm sure gathering a fair number of comments. How did this look in a true B&W presentation? Would like to see it. The contrast could use a bump as the lighting here is a tad flat.

Lines and Masts

The central line of the dock is an interesting lead for the viewer. As for shapes, I find the numerous lines, containers, "things", a bit overwhelming. I'd rather settle in for a pleasing view. This is chaotic, especially in regard to the challenge theme IMO. As for the B&W tonalities, the whites are under-represented and have been rendered as grey tones, which eliminates the dynamic pop and contrast associated with successful renderings of a B&W photo.
