Sibling catsby Rucl1124Comment: Hi Rucl1124!
Good job on nailing the challenge topic, this is often the trickiest part.
I'm not sure what camera you're using but it looks like it was struggling for light. For cats especially they look much better than people do when the sun is relatively strong, this will help with the noise/grain on your image.
And if possible, try for a composition where they are far from their background, to enable it to be blurred out and isolate them in frame.
Good luck and welcome to DPC! |

Fall Hikes Under Appreciatedby HUETHComment: Woodland photography is challenging, and whilst I think this is one of the better attempts at meeting the challenge criteria I'm not sure I love this enough as a photo to give it high marks. The conditions in woodland have to usually be perfect to convey that sense of magic to a viewer who wasn't there, although I totally get it as I often have the most amazing walks in the woods and come back with photos that don't come close to conveying it.
If you're interested in woodland photography, check out Simon Baxter. He does some great YouTube tutorials on his thought process and what he looks for to capture the magic in the chaos of woodland. |

Is this your lens?? :) I can barely see it..by ytshuvaComment: Technically this is one of the better captured images of the contest, but it's a tenuous link to the contest theme I think... It's a very cool portrait and a fun shot for sure. In another contest I could easily be giving this 7+
On second thought I think I understand the angle you're going for, so I'm going to vote with my gut on this one and hope that if I'm in the minority of getting what you were going for it will at least bump up your score, and if it's just me being dense well no harm done! |

underrated: climate activismby oldbimmercoupeComment: This is a very cool and photogenic building, and whilst I think the link to climate activism and thus your meeting the challenge requirements is a little tenuous due to its small size I'm going to stick with my original high score as there's something about the composition I love. |

Underrated Beauty: Contrail Skiesby Bear_MusicComment: This is one of the better photos that meets the subject clearly. I like the choice of crop and composition, and the processing too. I'm going to add 1 to the score to make it my favourite of the contest. |

The role of the father’s are underrated by NeatComment: This is a cute shot, although I'm not sure I agree with the sentiment. In most western countries the role of the 'traditional family' is front and centre of many of the major political parties. However I get what you're saying, perhaps that fathers are often overlooked in that key parent role. and as it's a nice, technically competent shot I'm going to bump up my score a bit. |

Love it or hate itby DistantColoursComment: It's a technically solid shot, made a little soft by the DPC compression presumably. I'm going to give it a solid middle-ground mark though as it doesn't feel too special to me, and I'm not sure love it/hate it translates perfectly to over or underrated. |

Overrated: Texas national prideby Yo_SpiffComment: I think this meets the challenge, and I quite like the subject. I'm not convinced there's not a better composition somewhere, but as someone who struggles to photograph buildings I'm going to bump this to a 6.
I do hope you don't get downvoted by any angry Texans :) |

the journeyby tnunComment: Ah you know I'm revisiting this to comment and I think I get what you were attempting with the image concept now, so I'm bumping it slightly. However the shot is a little too high contrast and processed for me and the subject seems out of focus. |
