Boating through a Child's Eyeby anniepieComment: The camera is struggling a bit with that sky there, it's always tough with direct sunlight.
The railing in the bottom is an unfortunate distraction too.
But the subject is a good choice and another good idea for a challenge. Try a little wider next time for the shot, let the subject breathe a bit. Remember the rule of thirds goes both horizontally and vertically and you'll have a solid composition! |

Beams and Rivetsby anniepieComment: This is a solid idea in a difficult challenge and it's unlucky not to score more highly. Keep up the great ingenuity with the shot ideas and good luck! |

True Loveby anniepieComment: Good to see him again! It's always tricky to get focus on energetic dogs. It's not possibile with an iPhone to set the f-stop but remember to leave a little bit more open than you would need with a human due to their big noses :) I'd start at f5.6 with your main camera if you plan on doing something similar and make sure you have a lot of light.
I look forward to seeing you in future challenges! |

Nature's Tapestryby anniepieComment: A good eye for composition and colour. I like the idea for this and whilst there are lots of things that could be improved it's often a case of having to catch these things in the moment as best you can, and I think you did a good job considering! Love the trees framing the rainbow. |

My Buddyby anniepieComment: Lovely dog! Reminds me of my own.
My favourite dog portraits are those that really get close on the details of the fur in the face, nice and sharp. Then in a full body like this I'd have loved to see the background further away and therefore out of focus.
Dogs are reaallly photogenic, you barely need any help from the lighting so you can focus all on composition! I'd love to see more pics of Buddy! |

kid_povby hera01051Comment: This is a harsh finishing place! The composition is actually excellent for such a difficult shot and I like the idea behind it.
I think all that lets it down is perhaps the image quality itself, it's a little noisy and out of focus.
But it's good to get your first contest under your belt! You have a good eye and ideas it seems, I look forward to seeing you in future challenges. |

20220515095302_IMG_5465by Lovely_dejaComment: This is a good, solid shot of a difficult to shoot subject. Nice dark black sky and crisp image. Well done! I look forward to seeing you in future challenges. |

IMG_25691by cmzComment: It's a pity this shot doesn't really fit the challenge well, hence the low score. I think it's a good, moody shot and a great composition picked out of a difficult location.
Better luck next time! I look forward to seeing you in future challenges. |

Don't give up, I look forward to seeing you in future contests. For what it's worth I think this would have gotten at least a 6 fixing these two minor issues so be careful next time! |

Feel The Flameby Rucl1124Comment: Hi Rucl1124!
Good job on hitting the nail on the head for the contest again, with an out of the box idea. Fire is notoriously difficult to photograph, and as in your last image the camera is struggling with the lack of light at the edges and perhaps too much zoom.
I would have preferred the two people on the right to be more centred, or not there at all. In the former case it could have been cool if they were watching the fire as spectators. Is this a controlled bonfire for a festival or similar?
Good luck on the next contest! |
