Let's Get This Over With!by RanklesComment: Originally posted by Neat: Oh, that’s what you look like :) Looks like you blend in well with the Italian vibe, with that hat. A really great portrait with the mountains behind. |
Thanks! Someone forgot to enter ;)
This was a really high scoring challenge, but I'm glad this did quite well. I didn't want to miss out on my first self portrait DPC even though it's a crazy period right now and I'm a little inactive.
Thanks everyone for the votes! |

Mother Nature’s Wallby ErinKirstenComment: Beautiful image and my favourite photography subject. Really great shot - I think this suffered as a DNMC rather than a critique of the photo itself, which is wonderful. |

Pinocchioby RanklesComment: Thank you all! I knew which shop I wanted to do as soon as the challenge opened, but it was a challenge with the reflections at that time of day even with a polariser. I did what I could, glad you liked it! |

Whiteby RanklesComment: Thank you everyone! This came out pretty much as I planned it, and was pleased that the weather I needed cropped up just at the right time for me to enter it into the challenge.
This particular part of the lake is always really misty in the mornings in winter and if you're lucky enough to get a clear day, the strong sun rising over the mountain behind diffuses over the lake through the mist and creates this effect. On top of this, the particular mooring for boats is something I've wanted to shoot for a while as it's private but accessible to the public the boats are spaced out nicely, whereas most public moorings are a chaotic mess of boats all crammed in like sardines.
The water is also really still in this part, meaning the masts of the boats don't get all blurry as you usually get (although it was bright enough to do short exposures thankfully)
I really wanted to capture that for the challenge and I was fortunate enough that it happened on this particular day :) Message edited by author 2023-03-06 04:48:09. |

Cold Oneby RanklesComment: Thanks for your comments all, I'm kind of shocked this scored highly let alone ribboned as it seemed like a typical 'instagram shot' I just took as a last minute effort after hitting a bit of a busy period and not being able to dedicate much time. Plus I was a little blocked creatively after throwing everything at the 'Drink' challenge and didn't want to just repeat the shot.
Thank you for your votes though! |

Tortured — Eggspectations Were Too Highby ErinKirstenComment: Really pleased this performed well! I hope your disappointment over the minimal editing challenge is alleviated a little by this - fantastic image and choice for the challenge. My top pick! |

Street Art by hippo110Comment: Wow first blue! My top pick and something fresh and new for a challenge that encourages people to play it maybe a little too safe. Great job! |

Street Art by hippo110Comment: In a high scoring challenge for me, I'm bumping this from 8 to 9 as the standout. The most original entry and that certainly helps in a challenge with predictable subjects. Great job! |
