Lemon slices and .....an ant!

This is quite a shot. At first glance it looks like a space picture with orbiting lemon slicesâ€Â¦ But then you spot the ant! I don't know if the ant is there by accident or was put there by design, but it's got me thinking. The presence of the ant gives it a surreal effect because on close inspection, it looks upside downâ€Â¦ OK, that said, technically it's a good shot and it certainly meets the challengeâ€Â¦ (9)

This is a great idea and a very good shot. But I feel that it could be improved – if only slightly – by changing the lighting. Try using bounced flash or reflectors to kill the dark shadows within the palm – your central subject. The composition is perhaps a little too central as well; try cropping the image to one side, this would – in my opinion - improve the balance of the of the very strong background over the central subject. Having said that, it's not a bad shotâ€Â¦ (7)

This is a nice shot, but I feel it's too busy and lacks a central subject. Lighting is great, and the DOF works, so the shot itself is fine it that respect. In my opinion, perhaps and unusual angle or tilt of the camera would given some improvement. Sorry to be so negativeâ€Â¦ Good luckâ€Â¦
