Put another "freakin excellent" in your cookie jar. Outstanding work! I hope not to replicate this quality too soon myself as I'm still rather enjoying the *journey* toward perfection.

Another classic example of photographers wanting to see the perfect photo and not a piece of art rending you a far lower than reasonable score imo. I gave you 8, but after seeing you final score I wished I'd made it 10.

I just want to encourage you to continue creating art with you photography. Anyone can point a camera at an already amazing subject, shoot and fix it up in photoshop later. What you do is more than that. Keep it up!

Thank you kdolso for being the only commenter to take the title and see beyond "Yet another pretty flower close-up but with an ugly fence." The setting is exactly as I found it. "Zero interference" is my policy, for now.

Thanks to everyone else who took the time to comment. With 683 entries it must have been tempting to leave comments out altogether! I'm certainly gaining an idea of what poeple like and what they don't. Great stuff! Thanks again.

Someone commented on the rose's focus being a little off. It is? Or was it(CRT) monitor glare? The focus is very near perfect on my screen. Hmmm, I guess the furtherest two petals are a little out of focus around the very edges. Pity I don't have the luxry of an SLR camera to see these things when the button goes down. One day...

Cast the light just right to avoid the knee (distracting), remove the objects at the right background and this shot is a solid 10 imo. Awesome balance of negative space also imo. If this is self portrature you are to be complimented on an excellent pose under the timer. The subject himself needs no further compliments. Beautiful. 8. Bumped to 9. What can I say. I just love the form :) Good luck!

Unexpected Invitation is the better choice for title imo.
Even before I read the description of how you found the view and eventually decided to include the bench - I could "feel" the invitation in the title.

It's an outstanding shot. I wonder if levelling the horrizon line would improve it even more? Or is that intended or an optical illusion in this case? Well done!

Lovely title. Nicely saved photo shoot session. Don't you hate it when your model packs a sad over remuneration terms?! :)

The lighting is soft, yet focus sharp. Contrast and shade range very good. Not too bright allowing the teeth to say their two cents worth. I like it. 9. Good luck!

Your best self portrait to date imo. (hoping I have that right. I'm pretty sure it's you... I'll have to come back and check afterward.) I don't care what some may say about a facial shadow or too. This looks like outdoor, natural light (whether it is or not). 10. Good luck!

The full range of shades, deep black to bright white and nothing missing in the middle, yet masterfully contrasted. Unique pose, absense of distracting shadows. This is a winner. 10. Good luck! (I hope you do a print version of this.)
